Question

2024 pen pressure

Hello,

I'm here to report a possible bug regarding the pen pressure in Photoshop 2024. I use a Gaomon PD1560 table, version 14.8.133.1259. I work on Windows 11, version 22H2 and OS build 22621.2283. When trying to draw in 2024, the pen pressure wouldn't work at all. I tried re-installing both Photoshop and my tablet drivers, turning pen pressure on in the brush menu, ensuring WindowsInk is enabled, all to no avial. The only way I seemed to fix the problem was downloading photoshop's 2023 version and using that instead. I hope this is helpful!

OK after an hour or so I realise that windows ink is both laggy, and interferes with "tap and hold" options and modifiers.

Yeesh. This should not still be a problem :'(

Noticed no pressure sensitivity this morning after updating, and found myself here.
I was previously using Windows Ink OFF in my driver, and useSystemStylus 0 in my user preferences, as I have been for years without thinking about it.
However, removing my user prefs and enabling windows ink returned pressure sensitivity, and I found myself unable to remember precisely why I had turned windows ink off in the first place maybe 5-6 years ago.

Is anyone able to tell me why not simply leaving windows ink turned on isn't suitable, as a quick play arund didn't reveal anything problematic.  (Xence medium tablet, latest drivers, win11)

I'm using a Wacom Cintiq 13 and I've the exact same issue, Photoshop 2024, nothing works either, let's hope they update this soon...

Had the same problem, tried updating the PSUserConfig.txt which didn't help. Reinstalled the previous version of Photoshop which did 'fix' the issue.

Update:

I got onto the newest photoshop just now, using gaomon tablet software version 16.1.0.111, and my pressure seems to be working again. Not sure if there was a bug fix or some sort of mistake on my end, but hopefully the fix stays that way.

I also can confirm this is a 2024 bug.  I couldn't figure out what was going on with healing brush being too strong and kept messing up my frequency separation for the past month or so.  I just realized it had updated to 2024 and no matter what I did with PSUserConfig or windows and making sure everything was updated.  Pen pressure is still bugged.   Once I seen this, I immediately uninstalled it and reinstalled the last 2023 version and it works now.

Not using 2024 until they notify people they fixed it.

I have the exact same problem tried everything, and updating the PSUserConfig.txt which is usually the problem. It's very frustrating that with every large new update, we have to go through the same fight to get my Wacom pen to have pen pressure.
