Question

22.0.1 line tool pixels mode greyed out

Upgraded from CS6 to CC and noticed I can't mark up images with lines with arrowheads anymore. Instead, one has to use cumbersome "shapes", which is just plain bizarre.

Photoshop is not Illustrator.

Why was the "draw a line as pixels" mode dropped? Was that function taking up too much memory or did it impact Adobe's stock performance?

Very dissapointing!

Good one; over on feedback.photoshop.com there are sometimes multiple threads on an issue and I must have missed that one in my search.

What is cumbersome? Seriously, are you trying to pull my leg?

Before, one could click the line tool and just draw or mark things up on screen, also in meetings with clients, without futzing with functions, layers and any other doo-dahs.

Why does Adobe decide to replace a perfectly simple working tool with "shape layers"?

If we need "shapes", we use Illustrator. In Photoshop, we work with raster images, also known as pixels.

We're nearly 150 upgraded Adobe CC users here.

Removing common tools because "the user must want to work the way Adobe thinks" is just plain ridiculous.

What basic functions are "improved" next, one has to wonder.
