Question

24.0.1 Photoshop - save as not working

Hi,

Anyone else having this issue? I am a very simple Photoshop user but have been using it for over 20 years. I recently upgraded my photoshop and this version (24.0.1) often just decides to not "Save as". I'll have several layers in a file, choose "save as" and the spinning wheel apears for about 20-30 seconds and no option window appears but just goes back to the working screen/arrow. As if I did nothing. If I "save" it'll save. If I shut the program down, and reopen it, I'll get a few "save as" attempts to work, but then they stop again. I've removed the application and reinstalled it - same thing.

Mainly logging this in discussion in case it's happening to more than one of us!

Thanks!

Kate

I mis-spoke I was "saving as a copy" not "save as"...

However, it appears that allowing full disk access to Photoshop is fixing the issue! Thank you!

So yeah, you have an image with layers (or 16-bit), and try Save As...  no go; JPEG doesn't support either.

If that isn't the issue, since you're on a Mac:

In System Preferences (System Settings in Ventura), >Security & Privacy, >Full Disk Access, do you see Photoshop listed? If not, add it and try again.
This explains how to do the same process in Lightroom; just pick Photoshop instead:
