3D menu in Photoshop CC 2021 'not available' (greyed out) Why?

Can anyone explain and fix why my 3D menus are totally greyed out and 'currently unavailable'?
I am trying to create a new 3D extrusion from a smart object (Ai) (bottle). I cannot create a new 3D extrusion from a selected layer. Nothing works.

UPDATE: Problem solved.  Preferences > Performance > tick on Use Graphics Processor. 
I also reset preferences on quit.

All 3D menus are now available. 👍

EDIT:  Could this be an issue with my graphics card? 

Radeon Pro 460 4 GB

Will updating the GPU driver help? If so, where can I find the MAC date required?
