I created a 3d panorama, but I cannot click on the icons on the top bar of the 3d panel.

Hi

Unfortunately that is now normal. The spherical panorama was changed in recent versions and instead of being just a normal sphere with all other 3D facilities available it is now treated differently and most of the 3D facilities are unavailable.

Is there an alternative way to edit in 2d the source file for the panorama then?

You could try loading the spherical panorma as the background image in a normal 3D scene (load it under the Environment properties and make sure you check "Panorama").
Then move the camera to the zero point.
By choosing Edit Texture you can open the 2D view and use Window >Arrange >2 up vertical to see the 2D view and the 3D panorama together. Changes on the 2D view should be visible on the 3D view.
