Action - Can you change User information built into an Action?

Question

Changing User PC Information Within An Action-We have actions we created in PS CS. We have upgraded all the way to PS6 because Adobe will no longer support our old software (all we needed was an activation code, that's another story) The function we have done in PS CS has never worked correctly in the newer versions. I have spent hours with Adobe support and never got that resolved. I think we may have a work around for the issue by loading the actions from my old version into the new. It works correctly on my PC now. My question is this: I loaded them onto a co-worker PC and need to be able to change my user name in the action without loosing the information in action that is working correctly. If we re-create the action in PS6 it does not work correctly. The other person lost their install of PS CS during a new PC install and Adobe will not provide a registration code to reactivate so we can't use his action file, it is gone. The issue is that part of the action shows my PC as the user where the files were opened and will be saved to. (ex: In: C:\Users\myname\Desktop/web fixes\150\) is there a way to change this to show the other persons PC instead of mine in the action without losing the original steps in action?

The Actions Palette is a full fledge Action Editor you do not need to re-create an action just to change some steps in an action. You can edit the existing actions steps and just change the one that need changing. It is also not a good idea to have save as steps that record path into the action that have userid path location unless you going to override save as steps using automate batch.
