Adding screenshot into Photo

Hey All!

I'm really new to photoshop and am not sure of the proper terminology for the following scenario.

I have an image with a computer and am trying to overlay a product screenshot onto the computer screen.

There is a hand blocking the monitor and I want to make the screenshot look more natural in the photo.

Can anyone help (or at least guide me on the right keywords to youtube?)

Thanks in advance!!!!

Y

Let me guess that your screen overlay is on separate layer, right? Follow those steps:

    • Hide layer with product shot
    • Select right hand using Quick Selecton tool or any other technique.
    • With selection active, show layer with product screenshot, select that layer and create layer mask
    • Invert layer mask (Ctrl/Cmd + I)

Depend on situation you can use Opacity slider to lower opacity of top layer, there are blending modes from the top of the Layers panel, or use layer mask with feather and adjust colors to match with parent photo.

you are asking for something more advanced than just a quick drop in. You need to create a layer mask and mask out that hand from what you are trying to put into the computer monitor. Try layer mask or masking on your You Tube search
