Adobe CS6 Crashes when printing after new Epson printer install
I found my post from ***2013*** dealing with this issue. LOL I still deal with it to this day!
I have Photoshop CS6 on a Windows 11 laptop. I have had two Epson printers installed on this laptop. Once I installed the newest one (an ET 2800) and uninstalled the old one (an ET 3760) every time I open and try to print a .PSD file that I created when I had the OLD Epson printer installed/in-use, and go to print, Photoshop crashes and closes.
I have deleted the prefs file more times than I care to admit. It will work for one file, but I will experience the same issue again if I open a different file. I have also tried to crtl+alt+shift when opening Photoshop and again, it will tell me "the saved print information is an incompatible version. It has been set to default values" and then "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop, or the saved printer is no longer available. You will need to check your printer settings before printing".
If I get those two messages (when trying to open and OLDer .PSD file that I create when I had my PREVIOUS Epson installed), I will be able to print. But it only seems to last for so long. Eventually, I will run into the problem again. Deleted the prefs file will only work for so long.
I am sure there are PRINTER prefs files stored somewhere by Photoshop, but I don't know where they are.
Anyone have any ideas? I know I'm using an ancient version of Photoshop, but I've had this issue apparently as far back as 2013. LOL
Would uninstalling and re-installing CS6 work? Or is there any way I can get the old printer prefs/files off my computer somehow?
I use Photoshop every day. I'd love to get this issue resolved. Thanks in advance!
Newly created .PSD files do not have this issue.
