I am using a lot of images on my pc. But some of them started to show an error at opening - The document "filename.psd" could not be opened. Does someone know how to restore a psd file by different methods or solutions?

    Correct answer

Now you may recover .psd image by any methods:

    - open it in another version of Adobe Photoshop one of the ultimate
    - saving it with another extension, it helps quite often
    - using some online file service, which are very popular now
    - applying third party software Photoshop Restore Toolbox, I mentioned that software I remembered, ow, here you can get its demo https://www.restoretools.com/photoshoprestore.html

It is strange but both your solutions were successful

Are you using File > Open in Photoshop or are you opening the files from a folder via the operating system?

    Yeah, but it was useless.

Does "Yeah" mean you have tried both?

Can you open any .psd files in Photoshop, or is it just certain files you can't open?

If it's all files, it sounds like a Photoshop issue, and not a file issue. Have you reset your Preferences?

To restore preferences quickly using a keyboard shortcut: Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings.
