Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 – Could not complete your request because the file was not found.

I updated my PS app yesterday from PS CC 2015 and suddenly I can’t open any jpg file on my computer on PS 2017 or now, PS 2015.

This is the message I see every time: "Could not complete your request because the file was not found.” The application looks like it’s loading the file, and then gives me the pop-up window.

I have tried uninstalling the application and reinstalling.

I have tried removing the Preferences from the Library folder.

I have tried “Resetting Preferences on Quit” in the Settings>General panel.

I have tried unchecking the “Prefer Adobe Camera Raw for Supported Raw Files” in the Settings>File Handling panel.

I have noticed that that when you select “About Plug-Ins” > “About Camera Raw" from “Photoshop CC”, I get the same error dialog box.

Please help.

I have the same problem.  I cannot open any files in Photoshop.   How does one "roll back" the "Camera Raw CC"  ?  Mine says it is 9.12.1.   Is that too new?    (I have Photoshop CC 2015 & 2017 running under OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.)

    Hi Mohit and stevepeck3,

I am having the same problem, just as stevepeck3 described it:

"I updated my PS app yesterday from PS CC 2015 and suddenly I can’t open any jpg file on my computer on PS 2017 or now, PS 2015.

This is the message I see every time: "Could not complete your request because the file was not found.” The application looks like it’s loading the file, and then gives me the pop-up window."

I referenced the first link you gave, Mohit. (The second link did not appear to apply since the error message was different)

My Camera Raw CC is up to date. I couldn't find any problems related to the jpg or filename extension.

stevepeck3 — were you ever able to solve this problem yourself?

    Anyone else?

I appreciate any help with this, especially since I've got deadlines!

Nope, have not been able to solve it yet.

I have to open JPEGS in Preview, then copy and paste them.

    It's slow and annoying.
