Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 Help (Mac)

Hey,

I'm new with using photoshop this is literally my first time. Also, I'm using a MacBook.

My first problem is basically trying to choose the "Stroke Path" option after using the pen tool to select a certain area. Any Ideas?

Again, this is my first time using Photoshop, so STEP by STEP instructions would be really appreciated. I've viewed other forums and it didn't really help much.

Thanks to anyone that can be of assistance I'm sure I'll have more questions soon.

You might want to work through some beginner tutorials to get familiar with the tools & terminology.

    HI,

You can stroke both a selection or a path once drawn with the pen tool. For most things like outlining or filling a shape or any selection with a color or pattern, look under the Edit menu. The Edit menu shows all the types of changes you can make to something. Just remember, you have to select it to edit it! If Photoshop does not see a selection nothing will happen - and by a selection, we mean "the marching ants" that show as a dotted white line or shape. Paths can also be edited with the Edit menu options.

Also, there are always at least 4 or 5 ways of doing something in Photoshop, so reading a step by step will work and another source might give you another way of doing the same thing! Nancy's suggestion  to watch some of the Tutorials on Adobe is a great suggestion. Also, subscribing to free newsletters like Colin Smith's PhotoshopCafe.com is also really helpful. I suggest you watch or read a few of his free tutorials even if that is not the project you want to do. Just watching will get you familiar with the tools, layers, menus, etc and you will start to understand PS.
