Adobe Photoshop Scaling Issue

It seems within the last few months when I try to select a portion of an image and expand it to the edge of the canvas it keeps trying to lock the aspect ratio, when I only want the image to go across to the edge. So then I basically have to duplicate that portion over and over till I get to the end.

Does anyone know how to fix this? It never use to do this in all my years of using photoshop.

Hello,

You can just uncheck the link between H and W in the Transform's Option Bar to get the normal behavior.

I would uncheck it, but it still would maintain the scale.

The scaling is switched. Holding the shift key down now turns off aspect ratio, but you can set how you want it to behave in the preferences.

Do you by chance know which preference setting this is under? I would like to switch it back to where the aspect ratio isn't maintained. Thanks!
