Adobe RGB or sRGB100% ?

Hi. I always talk about EIZO monitor that have ADOBE RGB color space... Is there any alternative to EIZO monitor for post production ? 

I use monitor for Photo and Video Post production.

I know that adobe RGB is essential to have wider color range and especially when I do catalougue or e-commerce shooting .

    The BenQ SW series is an excellent alternative.

      There seem to be some significant issues with benQ's Palletmaster calibration software. A shame, since it could theoretically access the benQ's inbuilt hardware LUT. Applications like basICColor display 6 work well, but cannot access benQ's inbuilt hardware LUT. basICColor display 6 will give a good calibration / profile on a benQ, but it's a shame to not have working software that supports the hardware LUT. 

      I'm making another recommendation for Eizo. Display 6 works great with Eizo and IMO beats their Colornavigator offering.

        The Eizo CG or CS series (all wide gamut close to Adobe RGB) is the safest bet on the market. You get exactly what you pay for: consistently high quality and tight manufacturing specifications. In particular, the CS series is probably the best performance:price ratio anywhere.

         

        There is one alternative, NEC Spectraview. Also excellent high-performance monitors, but they have somewhat shot themselves in the foot with totally different versions in different parts of the world. So you always need to double-check what you actually get.

         

        Anything else is a gamble. The others - Dell, BenQ, Asus etc - all compete fiercely on price, and quality is no consideration as long as the paper specifications look good. They cut a lot of corners to cut the price. Beware of all the marketing fluff like "dynamic contrast ratio" and so on. It's irrelevant nonsense. And just so it's mentioned, iMac displays are no better.

         

        What you need to look at is panel uniformity both in brightness and color, consistent tone curve that ensures good shadow and highlight separation, no color casts in the shadows - all of it things that don't appear in the specifications.

         

        An added bonus with Eizo/NEC is the fully integrated and very powerful calibration software. Having used that, you never want to go back to anything else.
