AI Denoise in Photoshop produces large boxes in image

Some of the files I process with AI Denoise finish with an image that looks normal except for having one or two large boxes in random places in the image. Others have the boxes and look like all the previous processesing steps have been erased. What is going on?

Denoise runs in the GPU exclusively, it doesn't touch the rest of your system. So that's where the problem is.

What GPU do you have? Is the driver up to date?
