All photoshop files corrupt or unusable

So I am working on Mac and have recently done the MacOS Catalina update and since then my outlook 365 has been shutting down up to 10 times throughout the working day and now all the files I am saving in photoshop in different formats are either corrupt or unuseable. For example, I have saved a photoshop file as a jpeg, it doesn't automatically change the extension (.psd to .jpeg) Yet it says it is a Jpeg but it doesn't have any jpeg properties. When I send across to the printers they can't use them.

Any suggestions on what I can do?
