Question

Animated text: image sequence issue

Photoshop 20.0.5, Mac OS 10.14.5

Animated a 3D text to spin using timeline keyframes. Plays fine in the timeline, but when I [Render Video] -> [Photoshop Image Sequence] it outputs 150 identical files, all seemingly the 1st frame. Have tried as PNG and JPEG, same results.

My searches have turned up old some similar issues with PS 19.x, but nothing more recently.

Note: it renders fine to h264 and Quick Time using Adobe Media Encoder

Hi

Before rendering to video, save the file then close it. Re-open it and check the 3D keyframes  in the timeline. If any are missing - redo them before rendering.

Missing or not in the timeline they still seem to be there the animation  animates and can be rendered.  Its annoying to have to redo the key frames and hope Photoshop will save them and perhaps be visible in the future. Also if it not your  animation how would you know where or how to animate the layers.  I found his missing and mine missing key frames when I open his PSD or my saved psd. I do not think it matters which version of Photoshop you use.  I see this  in many version of Photoshop. Will Adobe fix this who knows.

I agree JJ it is a bug - but hard to repeat consistently.

Then try saving that as a rendered MP4 oi export saver fot web will not save an animated gif. The open the MP4 in Photoshop and then use export  save for web to see if you can save an animated gif.  You want to open the animated Gif file in Photoshop will most likely be larger then your mp4 file. Open the Animated Gif an export the layers as files toe get your image sequence. They will however be poor in color for GIF only supports 256 color.  You could also try exporting an Image sequence from your opened MP4. MP4 does not support a transparent background.  The only way to get an Image sequence with transparent background is a PNG sequence from the original document.

Upload your orignal layer PSD and post a link yo it

Thanks for the reply. It saves as mp4 correctly & legacy save as gif works fine too, but for what I'm working on I actually need the individual PNG frames with transparency preserved.

I'll share the file, but I don't think keyframes are saved with .psd files so you'll probably have have to add in a z axis rotation keyframes to the 3d mesh layer to simulate the issue.
