Announcing Illustrator to Photoshop interop improvement: Live Text from Illustrator to Photoshop

October 2021 (23.0), Photoshop introduced, Paste as Layers support in Photoshop. This support enabled the import or pasting of Illustrator layers, including vector shapes and paths, compound shapes and paths, and clipping masks into Photoshop - all while maintaining visual fidelity, relative positioning, and layer structure.

Improving upon that functionality, Photoshop (23.3) added support for copy-paste of LIVE editable TYPE from Illustrator to Photoshop. Pasting live type as Layers preserves type attributes such as font, font style, size, alignment, orientation, tracking, kerning, and color in Photoshop.  Other more advanced typographic options such as area type, type on a path, touch type are also supported. We hope you try this new and exciting interoperability and provide feedback if you encounter any problems. Check out our related HelpX documentation for more info.
