Annoyance on Zoom tool

Up until about a year or so ago, when using the Zoom tool to display an image at 100%, the image was automatically centered while zooming. It doesn't do this anymore (see below). It's an unnecessary time wasting annoyance. Why was this eliminated?

Old version:

While in zoom mode, click on the 100% button in the tool options bar, and the image centered on the screen while zooming to 100% size.

Updated versions:

While in zoom mode, one has to first click on the Fit screen button, then the 100% button to display the image properly centered at 100%.

In Photoshop go to Edit>Preferences>Tools and uncheck Overscroll.

What was the version of Photoshop you were using when it last worked?

What version of Windows are you using?

If turning off Overscroll doesn't make any difference, can you post a screenshot of Photoshop with an image open before using Fit to Screen?

Thank you. That worked fine. I never checked the box, so I'm thinking turned on is the default.
