Question

Are Photoshop tutorials made for MAC users?

I am a beginner at Photoshop and so I started watching the beginner's tutorial. I have a desktop computer using Windows 10. I followed every step in the tutorial using a separate window. I got the impression that the instructions did not correspond to what was on my screen. For example, when I pressed "Swatches", I did not see any swatches, even though the tutorial showed the swatches. There were other discrepancies, all of which frustrated me. Are there tutorials specifically made for Windows 10 users?

Hi

This is not a Mac/Windows issue. You are watching older tutorials, and things change with newer versions. Here is how swatches work now:

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/choosing-colors-color-swatches-panels.html

To show "legacy swatches" (which is what the old tutorial shows), open the Swatches panel menu and select Legacy Swatches.

When you come across other issues, ask them in a new thread. We are happy to help!

Which tutorial?

Short cuts do vary on Mac and PC.  However, there is no difference between the software.

What I suggest is to decide what types of graphics you want to make or if you want to edit photos.  Then look up tutorials on YouTube.  Or on Google....

There are so many amazing tutorials out there.

The smartest content creators will make a tutorial without featuring short cuts.  Or if they do he/she will mention the shortcut for both platforms.

What version of Photoshop are you using?  That will also play a factor.
