Hi all,

I've been trying to figure out what might be the cause of these artifacts.

I recently upgraded to a amd RX 6600 XT. I've tried multiple drivers, clean installs, disabled my gpu in PS but im still getting this. Any idea what this is?? Im stumped!

Unfortunately I need my gpu drivers installed for other applications - total catch 22

So we've narrwed it down to the GPU.

Thank you for the suggestion.

When looking for a solution I also stumbled upon this link. I tried everything listed and the issue still presists.

A few things that I noticed which I found interesting:

- The issue goes away when absaloutely no GPU drivers are installed. But the issue is still there when I disable "Use Graphics Processor". It also doesn't seem to matter what driver I have installed, I've rolled back to the drivers I used with my old GPU.

- When trying to record the issue through screen capture it doesn't show on the recording. I'm not sure sure.

I don't understand what that entails but if doing so stops the issue, that's the fix.

I tried installing a new ICC Profile (I didn't have one previously installed). Unfortunately the issues presists.

The only time the issue doesn't occur is when my gpu drivers arnet installed. Disabaling the gpu in PS or disabling all settings in the AMD menu doesn't do anything. Also tried resetting my prefrences and even reinstalling PS, no luck.

So to be clear, disabling GPU didn't fix the issue? If so, it is possible you have a corrupted display profile.

Recalibrate and build a new ICC display profile, the old one might be corrupted.
If you are using software/hardware for this task, be sure the software is set to build a matrix not LUT profile, Version 2 not Version 4 profile.

Thank you for the replies. I tried all suggustions given, but unfortunatelty none worked. It deffinetly seems to be GPU related. When none of the drivers were installed I had no issues at all.

Hi @default98f9qvw903cf,

Please try @CShubert's suggestion. Fixes many issues.

If it fails, try this:

Choose Preferences > Performance > uncheck Multithreaded Compositing.
Quit and relaunch Photoshop.

If it does not work, try this.
Preferences > Performance > Advanced Settings > disable GPU Compositing.
Restart Photoshop.
