Question

As soon as I start Photoshop my GPU fan maxes out

...and will not go to default speed until I restart the computer.

This only started happening since I installed a 2nd graphics card.

 

Any help appreciated.

a better question is Windows or Mac... I assume Windows because touching a Mac = arrested

and what Gpu | driver did you install?

 

if you didn't update your driver software after swapping them then Photoshop isn't going to be the only program with issues... yes as Sahil states Photoshop will be looking for the old card

Hi Steve,

That shouldn't be happening, could you please let us know the version of Photoshop you're working with?
Also, have you tried updating the GPU drivers?


Could you please try deselecting "Use Graphics Processor" located in Photoshop's Preferences > Performance, then relaunch Photoshop and let us know if it helps?
