Question

Auto-apply ACR standard settings to jpg files

Hello,

i wonder if it's possible to make ACR apply my custom standards to jpg files upon opening them. Has anyone made experiences finding out how it works?

I already set Bridge to automatically open jpg-files in ACR, but always have to select the standards from the menu.

Thanks alot for your help!

Marco

Applying new default settings is a core function in ACR, and you're more or less expected to do that. There's no particular reason to stick with the out-of-the-box settings.

Granted, it's a little awkward to get to in ACR (it's much simpler in Lightroom):

Caveat: If you're also working with raw files, don't expect any given setting to have the same effect on raws and jpegs. They won't.

Thank you very much for your response! I use ACR only for jpg files as a filter. For RAWs I prefer Capture One.

I tried to save the new camera RAW defaults before, and yes, they are stored. The problem is, it does not apply them automatically to first time opened jpg files. I always have to manually select 2nd on the list: "Camera Raw defaults". Must be a bug or something...
