Auto blend issue

I'm having a problem with auto blend. I am working with Windows 10 and PS 2023. I am selecting, in this case, two images in LR then opening them as layers in PS. Then I auto align. NP, then I blend and I am not only getting an unsatisfactory blending but two error messages. 1) No pixels are more than fifty per cent selected and 2) Could not fill because there are not enough target pixels in the selected Layer. I have attched 3 jpegs. I am only trying to blend two layers. So Im giving you the near, the far and the blend. I assume the error messages are the reason I'm getting poor results but I don't understand and then of course wonder what I can do about the situation?

I think your main problem here is that these are not a good set of images for Auto Align and Blend, but it has still worked (for me) despite that.  The only difference between the two images is that the grass in the bottom left corner was in focus in the first image, and a foreground girder on the left is a bit less OOF.  For me Photoshop combined the two images making the best of the information available to it.  I used Auto for all settings, and had no error messages.
