Automated Batch for changing canvas size isn't working? Please Help?

Hi there,

I've got 200 images that are all JPG files set to 500px wide but various heights.  I've recorded an action that involves opening up one file from the image folder, changing the canvas size to 500 x 500 and saving out into a finished folder and then closing, then stop the record action.

I then run the automated batch and select the source folder and the destination folder, and then I run the batch, but what happens is the finished folder populates with images that haven't been resized at all, it seems it's just re-saving the original files in the finished folder??

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?  I've been able to run automated batches before with no trouble so this is really confusing me!
