Backwards text and other text issues...

OK I had this issue with Photoshop in CS6 and now I'm having it with CC.

1. My text preferences are set to MIDDLE EASTERN/SOUTH ASIAN.

Every time I open a new or create a new document, the type is ALWAYS putting punctuation at the beginning. So I go to Type > Language Options > and it's set to Middle Eastern and default direction. It ALWAYS defaults to this. What is the problem? It just started happening to. I have to CONSTANTLY go in to the text menu and change it to 'left to right direction'.

Any solutions?

When you change it do you have a document open?

If so, try closing all documents, go into the Type > Language Options menu, set it all to what ever you want.
Close out of Photoshop, reopen and check if the settings have changed or stayed as you set them.
