Question

Batch command cannot find file(s)

Recently, I changed out an SSD drive for one with more storage.   Same drive letter all properties seem fine.   Both Bridge and Photoshop of 2021 and 2020 versions, each can access, process, and save my jpeg image files.   However, when I run Batch and give Photoshop an open file (in Photoshop) or a folder initiated within Photoshop or Bridge, I receive a Photoshop error that the command cannot be executed because the file cannot be found.  I have tried the Batch command using other drives as sources for the images and receive the same error.   I have uninstalled each program in all four combinations as well as gone back to the 2020 versions.   Previously, I had processed over 250,000 images using the Batch command.   Although my folders are over 15GB, I had previously no problems.   I also tried folders with 5 images with the same error.   Any suggestions would be helpful.

Action have hard coded step settings. If your file's drive letter has changed or paths changed because  of your system's  configuration.  The Action is trying to open the file from  its former disk letter. So its not found. The file not found may not be one of the image file being batch it could be one recorded in the Action.  Is the file not found path in the error message.

If not completely expand the action you are batching  so you can see all the recorded steps settings.  Look for  recorded File names and paths and verify that they exists.

Actually, I found that the file not being found is not the image file(s) but rather, the log file.   When the log file is defined in any directory, everything works.
