Question

Batch Convert JPEGs from Progressive to Baseline?

I have a LOT of pictures I edited in Photoshop 14.1 for Macs.  Many won't work in my digital photoframe because they need to be saved as non-progressive.  Is there a way to batch convert them to a baseline format without having to go back and save each one in the new format?  A previous discussion on here recommended going to File>Scripts>Image Processor, but Scripts isn't an option with the Photoshop program I have.  Thanks for your help!

Record a single step action. Save as Jpeg Baseline Optimized quality 10, Include ICC, do not change the Filename recording the action step just accept the Name Photoshop sets in the  Save As dialog.  You do not want a File name recorder into the action step.   Then Batch that action using menu File>Automate>Batch.  In the Batch Dialog override Save as steps and set the destination location to be the folder you want the files saved in.

Thanks for the answer.  I'm using Photoshop Elements 14 on a Mac and can't see any way to record a new action.  Is is possible with the program I'm using?

Correct Elements does not have an Action recorder.  And only Photoshop Actions that only use Element features will play in Elements.

You could download a trial of Photoshop and record the action you need.
