Best way to cut an image from a busy background?

I've seen a lot of YT videos that show you how to cut out an image from a photo that has a very generic or plain backgound, but not a busy background like this. 

Does anyone have any suggestions beyond tracing the whole image with the magnetic lasso tool, which I have been doing?
