Question

"Blend if" doesn't work for color channels except gray channel

Hello guys, im just trying to replace background using "blend if" method. But as you can see it on my SS's whatever channel i play with it just starts from highlights to shadows regardless of color of the channel. Like trying to replace blue sky and using blue slider but it just takes red highlights, what am i doing wrong?

The reason you are getting unpredictable results is that a move set to R, G or B  affects more than one cHannel because all of them are live.

The setup for the examples shown is the top image layer. There is a transparent layer below it.

In your case, for example, if you want to affect only the green channel, go to Channels and turn off the red and the blue channels. Then return to Layers, call up Blend If and choose Green. This Is shown most dramatically when presented in Lab Color

I suggest that, even though you can split a slider for a softer transition, rather than looking to Blend If to get the result you are after, you choose to build a channel mask. For additional assistance please tell us exactly what you have in mind so that we could consider Calculations or a mask built on a CMYK or Lab Channel if the RGB channels don't offer an adequate mask source.

Can you provide more details because from what I see on your screenshots everything works fine as it should. What are your expectations is also important.

I have tested in Ps 20.0.2 and everything works fine as it use to work.

    Like in these two SS's

The gray slider and the green channel slider effects the same area. Highlights of the photo

Isn't the green channel slider supposed to select the green color area of the photo?
