Hmm, this is challenging @ALT Photography since it worked and then didn't. Was there anything in your system that changed/updated in the time after it worked? We see you have a third party plugin installed, not saying it is the reason but trying to determine anything that might have started this issue.

I have created layers to seperate forground from background, blurred background in Blur Gallery and push "OK" to accept the changes I've made. This worked for me this morning, and now it won't.. which is what is so frustrating.
I have tried changing colour profile/bits, reset tools, restart PS, disabled graphics processor, resized image.. all to no avail.

Hi @ALT Photography, could you share your steps you are doing when this happens. When did this start, does it happen with other files with Smart Object layers?
It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
