blurring two placed images together

Hello. I'm new to PS. I saw a really cool image I'm trying to recreate for practice and I'm having a hard time getting that smooth blurred transition between the pics. Can anyone help?!.

Hi,

The image you posted with your question looks like Layer Masks have been used to create the transitions.

Its all about layers, Layer mask and layer stacking order. Layer mask gray areas softly blend layer together gradient areas feather the layers together. Blending modes and blend if gray adjusment can also help blending composits.
