Question

Bounding boxes, magnetic lasso & pen tool disappear

Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with Photoshop where I will be using my bounding box, lasso tool or pen tool fine but then all of a sudden the bounding box will disappear and I won't be able to see the lines but if I hover in the right spot i'll still be able to get the controls to show up to free transform. I have as similar problem with lasso and pen tool where the lines will disappear and i have to blindly search for where the beginning of the selection was to close it and THEN the selection shows up but only once it's closed. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have tried resetting preferences on quit but that only solved the problem temporarily and it's not ideal.

Thanks!

Mojave has some serious issues with Photoshop. Turn off dark mode if you have on, as there are other issues besides ones in this list, and dark mode is often the issue.

Known issues - Running Photoshop CC on macOS 10.14 Mojave

Compare your settings to mine

Play around with these, you might get Photoshop to behave

Try Edit >> Toolbars for missing tools.

Make sure you have the latest graphic card driver update .

you can also try turning off:

use graphic processor from edit -> preferences -> performance , then restart photoshop.

Hi

Are you hitting Ctrl/CMD + H key combo by any chance, also what exact version of Photoshop and OS do you have

Unfortunately no, I'm not. I am running Photoshop 20.0.5 and my OS is Mojave 10.14.5

If resetting the preferences didn't help you may need to do a reinstall using the Adobe cleaner tool

Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems
