Question

Bringing image into filter gallery removes color for some reason

Just looking for a little help if possible.  I have an image i was working on.  Its mostly black and white, but I brought in images from elsewhere and colored them.  Now the whole image together when brought into the filter gallery, removes all the colored parts, and everything is black and white.  Any reason for this possibly?  Thanks.

Which actual Filter are you talking about?

Edit: Certain Filter Gallery Filters are intended to use/apply the Foreground- and Background Colors, so what you describe could be as intended.

I put a motion blur on first, then just bringing it into the filter gallery, the preview automatically showed a full black and white image.

When you bring an image into the filter gallery, the filter gallery preview display will use the currently selected filter  (see the eye icon next to the current filter). If that happens to be a filter which uses the foreground and background colours then you will see the image preview displayed in those colours, and if they are set to black and white then your image preview will display as black and white.

Take a screenshot of the entire screen when you open filter gallery - that will show what filter(s) are currently being previewed.

@everyone82 can you post a screenshot of the Photoshop interface with all the pertinent panels opened to highlight the issue

I found skull picttures online, and removed the background, and colored them using an ajustment layer, and brought them onto my other image.  I even saved the entire image as a png file, and brought it back in, and still the filter gallery just removes the pink.

Again:

Which actual Filter are you talking about?

Please post meaningful screenshots including one with the Filters Gallery window.
