Brush and Smudge glitching

When I use photoshop I mainly use brush and smudge. Well today I haven't been able to do that because everytime I stroke an image using brush, or smudge it stretches out to the top left corner of my photoshop window. I've tried resetting tools to try and fix it. I've re-installed photoshop to try and fix it, I've even tried to search online for this issue, but haven't had any luck. If anyone has ever had this problem or glitch whatever it is, please reply, because this is driving me nuts.
