Brush Crosshaor Remove and Disabling Menu Hotkeys?

Hi,

There's a couple of things that I've been trying to turn off but not having any luck. Thought I'd ask the pro's if it's actually possible.

1. Brush crosshair. I see ways to add it to a brush in options but with smaller brushes I'd like to remove or hide it but keep the tiny brush shape. Can it be done?

2. I have my brush size keys as R and T and smudge as Y. Every other time I press Y for smudge it'll open the text menu (I think) and I have to press Y a few times to actually get the tool instead of the menu. I've looked in the keybinds for the text menu in the applications dropdown and can't find any instances of Y to turn off. Is there any way to disable certain keys from opening menus?

Thanks.

    1) What are your Photoshop > Preferences > Cursors settings?

If you mean you want to set different displays for Brush tips depending on their diameter then I am afraid that is not an option at current.

    2) Could you post screenshots to illustrate?

    Hi, thanks for reply.

    1. I just mean for it not to show a crosshair when the brush tip is pretty small. When the brush gets to a certain size a crosshair appears to help you see it but I find it a bit disorientating and would like just the brush shape without the crosshair on top of it.

    2. It's hard to post a screenshot of this. It also happens when I select the eraser (default E). When I press these keys they sometimes pop down a menu from the main menu bar at the top instead of the tool. I've removed all the shortcuts I can find for E and Y except what I use them for but still they do it. It's probably because of the alt key. Is there any way to disable the alt modifier for the main menu bar?
