Brush Cursor keeps disappearing - Photoshop 20.0.5 macOS

hoping I'm not the only one with this problem.

After a recent update, 20.0.5, I've noticed that when working with larger files, the cursor often disappears.

I cannot find where my brush is and I need to guess.

Resetting tools and preset doesn't seem to work.

Adobe has helped me as well and no fix.

are other people having the same issue?

thanks.

Hi Andrew,

That should not be happening, let's make it right.

Could you please try deselecting "Use Graphics Processor" located in Photoshop's Preferences > Performance, then relaunch Photoshop and let us know if it helps?

If that does not help, then try enabling "Legacy compositing" located in Photoshop's Preferences > Performance, then relaunch Photoshop.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
Sahil

Sahil,

thank you for responding!

i have also just turned off use graphics processor before you responded and it seemed to have helped very slightly.

i then also ticked legacy compositing after your suggestion and it has improved slightly as well. (brush strokes moving much smoother)

though i have found that previously my cursor was disappearing at 300 or 400% zoom, now it is around 66 - 85%.

any other suggestions?

Good to know it's working!

yes. happens to me all the time.

1. increase brush size so cursor becomes more visible......i think default brush size keyboard shortcuts are [  or  ]

2. pressing CAPSLOCK turns cursor into crosshair which becomes very difficult to see - try tapping it on/off to see if it makes difference

im starting to wonder if it is because my gpu is under powered. as it is now mainly working on driving my new display...
