Brush size

When i want to draw with brush size 1 i cannot see anything when i switch to size 2 i can see a line. Can someone help me?

Press Ctrl/Cmd + 1 then draw with size 1. If that does not help see answer/request above.

Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, Brush Settings, Brushes, …) visible?

Well, 1px diameter is not a lot to start with, but does turning off the texture and viewing at View > 100% make a difference?
