Question

Brushes don't response in Photoshop

Alongside brushes visibility I'm experiencing more problems with brush cursors in latest Photoshops (2019 and 2020) mainly while working with Wacom Intuos Pro M (latest drivers), but sometimes even with keyboard.

They getting stuck (not responsing) often, for example while working with clone stamp, it's getting stuck in source mode and doesn't change back to target mode, so I can't clone, or while using hand tool with spacebar, it shows hand, but I cannot move canvas. Sometimes brushes absolutely don't response to clicks. The only help is to switch from Photoshop and back.

Also clone stamp cursor is lagging and very slow, sometimes it takes source area from different place then I clicked, then I have to work very slowly to allow clone stamp brush working how I need.

Hi there,

We are sorry about the experience with Photoshop.

You can try to uninstall the drivers of the Wacom completely and then re-install them. In Photoshop 2020, go to Preferences, then Performance and check the option for Legacy Compositing. Also, increase the RAM usage to about 75% and uncheck the option to Use Graphics Processor. Once, you have made the changes, quit and relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.

You can also try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned in the link below.

Note: Please backup your actions, brushes, etc. before resetting the preferences. You can check: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/photoshop/using/preset-migration.html

Regards,

Nikunj

Hi Nikunj,

thanks for your suggestions. But not only it doesn't help, also I'm loosing some performance features, like brush size and hardness preview.
