Question

Bug in guides while working with artboards

Hello,

So, today I came across a bug with the guides (or at least I think it's a bug). Whenever I move my artboard around, the guides missplace themselves. It happens both with locked guides and unlocked. Also happened sometimes when quicksaving the project. I'll attach a video.

I'm on Windows 10 Pro, GPU drivers and Photoshop are both updated.

@Vitor Shayeb

I can't reproduce this issue in Ps 2024 (25.9.1). Artboard Guides (6 vertical, 6 horizontal as per your example) move correctly with the artboard.

I suppose providing the actual file might be best way to enable others to check out what is actually going on.

Guides were always relative to the canvas ruler origin point.

Artboards give the impression/experience of having more than one canvas, when this isn't the case.

Adobe "recently" added the terms/features "artboard guides" and "canvas guides"... However, the documentation doesn't explain things very well IMHO.

The difference is if one has an artboard/s active when adding the guide (artboard guides) vs. no artboards selected when adding the guide (canvas guides) and how they are toggled on and off when cycling through show guides or view > show... So guides can now be tied to an artboard and canvas or different artboards can have different colour guides.

@Vitor Shayeb – as it looks like you are using artboard guides applied to Artbaord 1, I will setup a similar test and come back with my findings.

I created test file with a New Guides Layout and that does not seem to be affected.

How did you create the Guides?
