Bug w/Curves Layer Adjustments after unlocking layer.

PS Version 23.0.1 Windows 10 Thinkpad W550s

This has never been an issue in the 20+ years I have been using Photoshop. This bug is relevant to the most recent release. I lock layers. After unlocking a curves layer and selecting adjustments directly from the layer icon and attempting to select or create a point on the curve a dialog box appears stating that a value needs to be between X and Y. The XY fields are not visible but mouse movement causes all kinds of bad behavior to the point I selected. The fix is to escape a couple of times which may cause the point being selected to disappear. Basically the curve is being clobbered by an underlying bug. I have no idea the how or why that bug has not been fixed but clearly Adobe quality testing has failed significantly. Please deal with this so I can stop wasting my time trying to work around it. I lock layers all the time. The last version worked great, Now it doesn't.

I'm not able to reproduce.

Steps tried:

  1. New document
  2. Add a curves layer
  3. Lock the layer
  4. Unlock the curves layer made in step 2
  5. create a new curves layer by clicking the new Curves button on the layers panel
  6. Try to move the points in the curve just created
  7. Try and move the points in the curve from step 2

No error in all cases.

Might need a file along with steps so I can reliably reproduce.
