Camera raw doesn't update Smart object

I've finally been stumped.

Photoshop 25.1.0

Windows 10 home

i7 7700 3.6ghz

32gb ram

1tb ssd

1tbssd

16tb hdd

Nvidia 1070

This is quite the disruption.

My final steps to any edit include converting to a smart object, running raw filter for a Polish, then unsharp mask.

Smart filters are optimal since they adjust and I often have to change the image size or make edits inside the smart filter. 

Maybe 2-3 weeks ago, I finished my raw Polish and clicked okay. After a couple minutes, the loading bar disappeared and the SMART object did not update. 

Returning immediately to Raw filter, an error pop-up said, "You must have graphics card acceleration activated in preferences."

Something to that effect.

Check preferences; it still says it is enabled.

Run a test with afterburner and it's fine. 

Restart the program,  same thing. 

I left it.

Then it happened a week later. 

Same issue by the same method 

This time after restarting Photoshop, I immediately opened raw, made one adjustment, then exited. It DID update.

Going back in to edit the filter also worked. 

I followed that process last night at 9pm.

I had a very difficult piece and did not complete the raw filter edits for 10 hours..

I suppose I will complete them faster now, so long as my frontal views cortex doesn't shut down from a lack of sleep. 

Ideally, this issue can be resolved with a quick hand. 

I did confirm the driver update again, and again. 

Idea?
