Camera Raw - How to Open File in CS6

I used to be able to open any camera file in  Camera Raw in my CS6.  Not sure if I lost that ability in an "update" or how it happened that I can no longer do it.  I tried through Bridge and here is the reply I received:

Bridge’s parent application is not active.

Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature.

What do I need to do to enable the program to allow me to open images in Camera Raw, either through CS6 or Bridge?

    Make sure that both Bridge and Photoshop are up to date. Then try opening Photoshop before you try to open the raw image from Bridge.
