Camera Raw update for CS5 - help

I am trying to bring a file into PS, I get a message that says camera model is not a supported version of camera raw. I was trying to update camera raw to the newest version. I downloaded and extracted the files for adobe patch installed (that is what installed) I received a message that I had to reinstall adobe application manager, which I did and then I get a message that says updates are not applicable for me and to contact support. I contaced support and they told me CS5 is a discontinued service and to ask in the forum. Any advise? Do I have to purchase a new version of photoshop to be able to install any updates? When I look for updates in the program it says there are not any updates.
