So I use an older Mac Pro (2006 running MacOS 10.6 Snow Leopard) and I basicly use it as a creative workstation now I've been using gimp for several years but it leaves a lot to be desired in the wacom tablet department so I was thinking what if I got an older version of photoshop and CS 3 seems to fit the bill but I have 2 big questions

- 1 is it legal for people to sell CS 3 because I don't want to buy software that people shouldn't even be selling

- 2 does that whole using older versions can get you sued thing effect CS 3 because I only buy software that I can use as I please whether that be putting funny faces on famous people to making professional artwork and selling it

Thanks for any advice in advance

You are more likely to be screamed then to be able to find someone that will transfer their licence to you through Adobe for some price. Most need to keep their licences to use an upgrade to cs4, cs5 and cs6.  transfer product license  I also do not know if it would be legal for then to provide you with the CS3 Installer the does not require activation they were able to download from Adobe for their licence.

CS3's activation servers have been shut down, so even a genuine unused copy is useless and Photoshop CC needs 10.13 or later.

You can ask around for other image editing software packages that will run on 10.6.8, but that OS is far outdated to run anything from Adobe Systems, and your chances of getting anything genuine from Adobe from a third party that will run on 10.6.8 is slim to none. Too many fakes.
