Hi

It will be hard

Yoiur competition - very low cost online retouching services run in third world countries have made "general image services" earning super tough I'd imagine.

To make money, I think you'd need the skills and time to build a reputation. Some make it, for sure.

I'd suppose it would be a bit like trying to become a pro photographer these days. Although pro advertising photography gave me a great living for 20 years up to 2000, I'd not be thinking about starting out such a career nowadays.

[back in the 90's a good digital image retoucher charged £400 an hour. And decent ad. projects sometimes took days to complete.]

I wish you luck if you give it a go.

I hope this helps

That's like asking "Will a scalpel make me a good surgeon?"

Only if you have the talent & training for it.

A difficult question to answer -- probably not, there are too many people offering Photoshop services. If you want to be a graphic designer, you need to learn Photoshop, InDesign and illustrator as a minimum. If you can afford to go to college that would be the best route, though you can learn a lot from books and online videos, and then maybe help producing stuff for local non-profits free of charge to help build your skills.
