Question

Can I delete old versions of UXP / Plugin Storage / PHSP folders?

Hello! In an attempt to figure out what was loading up my C drive so much, I got to the folder C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\UXP\PluginsStorage\PHSP ... more than 10 GB, which would be very useful to me if it could be freed up. As far as I can guess, folders 22-25 belong to previously installed versions of Photoshop:

Folders 25 and 26 seem to be almost identical in content and size. Similar to how previous settings are usually imported into a new version.

So, can someone please give me a hint? Maybe someone has already done this before. What is sacred about these folders? And can I delete folders 22-25 without any qualms of conscience and consequences for the program's functionality?

Hey, @7418178_7185. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Do you use any older versions of Photoshop apart from 2025 v26?

In general, this process should be harmless. Instead of deleting these folders, you can move them to another drive or folder and check if your current workflow is impacted.

Once you're sure, start with the oldest folder first and leave the 25 & 26 folders for now.

Thanks!

Thank you, Sameer, for your response! No, I don't use any of the previous versions - they are all removed from my computer. Good advice about moving to another place - I'll go try it. Thanks!

Moved folders 22-24. But, at first glance, nothing broke )) It looks like you're right! I'll watch for a while and try to move folder 25.
