Question

Can I run PS CS5 on Mac OS 10.14.4?

CS5 is not supported beyond OS 10.6.x, but I have been successfully running on 10.11.6 for several years.

Now my health care website suddenly requires OS 10.14.x or higher to access its features.

Is anyone using PS CS5 ( I have the whole suite, but use only PS) on OS 10.14.x or higher?

If so, did you have to do a new install?

Any lost features after the conversion?

Thanks

Keep your old computer for use with legacy software like CS5.  And work offline.

Get a new laptop or Chromebook for accessing e-mail and Internet.  That's where you need the added security.

Even though it's not officially supported, CS5 should run OK on 10.14.x (Mojave) but that's the last version of the macOS operating system which will run software that old.

It will definitely not install on macOS 10.15.x Catalina.

Because CS5 is a 32 bit app?

CS5 actually installs Photoshop itself as both 32 bit and 64 bit.

https://helpx.adobe.com/au/photoshop/kb/64-bit-os-benefits-limitations.html

The main issue is the installer and associated component files which, until very recently, were 32 bit only. Catalina has zero 32 bit support so it cannot install any version which has any 32 bit components. That applies to all versions other than the two most recent Cloud versions which are now all 64 bit files, including the installer.
