Question

Can I translate plugins by myself?

I downloaded some awesome plugins developed by others but my friends can't use a plugin with English UI.

I'd like to translate these plugins by myself for them but don't know hot to do that.

I did try to use UltraEdit which can be used for translating EXE files, but I can't get texts this way.

So can I do that and how to do that?

Thanks~

In general I think you should assume that you do not have the right to change a plugin someone else created unless they published it with that specific permission.

But you may want to ask on more specialised Fora, like the SDK (or the Scripting Forum).

I believe you're right that I should not edit a plugin without permission.

And actually edit the plugin file to change the language is a bad idea anyway.

But I haven't seen any plugin with multi-language support achieve it in other forms, and sames like Adobe have no frame or standard to support that.

I'll try to ask for some help there, thanks a lot!

And maybe try to contact the plugin-makers. (if the number of plugins is manageable …)

Some might be willing to improve the language options in their products.
