can't access disk after updating photoshop cc

After updating to the latest version of photoshop cc i can't open server files anymore. I right click on the file i want to open and choose open in photoshop, however photoshop opens but the image, PDF or PSD never loads. sometimes i get a warning message saying it can't access disk. Do you guys know why this is happening? I can open any of these files on the other adobe tools like indesign and illustrator. I tried clearing photoshop preferences and even uninstalled it but nothing is working.
