Question

Can't change brush size/hardness when in Select and Mask

Hi,

I'm unable to change brush hardness and make brush smaller via hotkeys when I'm in Select and Mask workspace. I can only make brush larger with right bracket. The other three keys toggle instead High Quality Preview, which didn't have any shortcut assigned at the time. So then I've given the High Quality Preview shortcut, I've tried again to change brush hardness and make it smaller, but now it was changing Smart Radius that also didn't have any hotkey assigned at the time. After that I've made sure, that everything had its hotkey, but those keys for brush now didn't do anything.

I've resetted preferences, reinstalled photoshop and checked if the problem was only on my desktop computer, but it turns out, that I have the same problem on my laptop.

Both of my computers work on Windows 10, have Photoshop version 21.0.2 and have czech layout keyboard.

Is there something I can do to stop it happening?

Is it a bug?

Filip

Everything works fine and for me when using bracket keys and Shift + bracket keys as already stated by JJMack. I am on Win 10, Photoshop 21.0.2.

Both the bracket keys should work to decrease and increase the size adding the Shift key effect the hardness and size on my machine when in the select and mask workspace. I do not know what you mean the other three keys. What country keyboard are you using.   Try resetting all Photoshop tools and your Photoshop preferences.
